Students' Professional Backgrounds
The graduate students that we attract to the program have diverse professional backgrounds and experience levels. Often students have a specialty in one area of commercial real estate (e.g., lending, brokerage, site planning, etc.) and join our program to acquire the interdisciplinary knowledge and the financial acumen to better evaluate commercial real estate opportunities. Prior real estate experience ranges from 0 – 10+ years as we recruit students directly from highly competitive undergraduate institutions as well as experienced professionals with 10+ years of experience in a specialized niche of commercial real estate.
Student Job Placements
Students graduating from the program have the skills necessary to qualify for positions such as development associates, underwriters, brokers, asset and property managers, acquisition specialists, and investment/financial analysts. Graduates from the MSRE program work for leading Charlotte real estate firms including Childress Klein, Crescent Communities, Grubb Properties, CB Richard Ellis, Wells Fargo, Lincoln Harris, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and numerous others.
CRE Job Placement
The Center for Real Estate is dedicated to helping our students realize and achieve their professional real estate careers. We have maintained 100% job placement for our students within three months of graduating from our MSRE program. We work one-on-one with our students to connect them to the Charlotte commercial real estate community through internships, trade events and our newly established mentorship program. Graduates of the MS in Real Estate work at a variety of employers in the Charlotte region, around the country and around the word. Since the program began, almost 150 real estate students have graduated.
