Belk College celebrates diversity at Heritage Feast

Faculty and staff in the Belk College of Business celebrated diversity today at the first annual Heritage Feast, a potluck celebration of ethnic, regional and cultural foods. Attendees provided a favorite dish and voted on their favorites.

Congratuations to the winners:

  • John Gandar, associate dean,for his traditional New Zealand kiwi dessert
  • Sak Bhamornsiri, associate professor of accounting,for his paneaeng nuea (beef curry)
  • Lee Vang, global programs coordinator,for his Larb, a Lao meat salad
  • Libby Brown, coordinator in the Department of Accounting, for her country ham biscuits
  • Amy Riter, advising center coordinator, for her broccoli salad
  • Jeremiah Nelson, director of graduate student services, for his New England clam chowder.

The Heritage Feast was planned by the Belk College's Diversity and Inclusion Resource Council, which is chaired by Jeremiah Nelson. Members include Chanel Jackson, Department of Marketing; Sak Bhamornsiri, Accounting; Sunil Erevelles, Marketing; Cheryl Kane, Management; Dolly King, Finance; Faith Neale, Finance; Alice Tseng, Economics; Jennifer Hurlbert, Dean's Office; Dana Lanham, Marketing; Dustin Read, Center for Real Estate; and Tony Stylianou, BISOM. Honorary members are Belk College advisors Linda Okawita, Congentrix; Raj Pragasam, Compass Group; and Lynne Walker, First Horizon Corp.
